Most of my career has been in journalism, mostly newspapers, and mostly sports at that. Started at the (defunct) Telegraph in Painesville, moved to the (defunct) Times Leader in Chardon, then to the (semi-defunct) Gazette in Jefferson, then to the Times Recorder in Zanesville, the Leaf-Chronicle in Clarksville, Tenn., and back to the TR (twice). Have also been a broadcaster for 20 years, having started in Clarksville doing Division I-AA football and Division I basketball for Austin Peay State University, then moving on to do hundreds of high school football and basketball games here in the Zanesville area since 1993 (including some TV). That has led me into public-address announcing and I've been doing ZHS sports for several years now. I am a member of the National Association of Sports Public Address Announcers. Yes, it exists. (And RIP "The Sports Guys," January 1996 to April 26, 2010.) I have also worked in economic development in the public and private sectors. I am currently the Web Site Coordinator for Zanesville City Schools, which allows me the opportunity to meld all of my talents and experiences into one satisfying job. I'm also very active in a number of sports-related programs, especially in booster groups (most notably a past president of the ZHS Quarterback Club). I am a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in beautiful downtown Zanesville. I am a Cleveland sports fan -- forever.
