"Dr. Alexander Bandar has worked in the manufacturing industry for more than 10 years; in addition, 4 years ago he founded the Columbus Idea Foundry - a community workshop, educational space and creative center (which Popular Science has hailed as one of the 15 most active Makerspaces in the US). At the CIF, anyone may take classes on community tools - from laser cutters to welding stations - and members may use the tools for their own projects, products and artwork. The CIF represents a novel type of community workshop that serves to implement cutting edge technologies of the Maker Movement and make them accessible to the general public, thereby not just educating but empowering our next generation of students, entrpreneurs and innovators."
