Infusing Computational Thinking into the Middle School Social Studies Curriculum

I will discuss infusing computational thinking within the middle school social studies curriculum to promote students as innovators of technology and active participants in the digital world. I define computational thinking as a way to problem solve historical causation, formulate patterns and perceive events through representation, modeling and simulation. Further, I propose sustained curriculum-based professional development as a means to ground computational thinking within the curriculum.
