Every day, learning is taking place across barriers once thought to be insurmountable. For the 15th anniversary of OETC, join more than 6,000 attendees to explore the endless possibilities that distance learning and alternative learning models provide. Attendees will come together to teach and learn about new ways to equip, engage, and empower learners and educators across the state and beyond!

The clock is ticking & we are steadily marching toward the year 2014. With the new year comes a change in the way we measure success in learning. ilearnOhio provides us with great opportunities to integrate the elementary curriculum, all while addressing the demands of the Common Core & the new state standards. This session is designed to provide resources, examples & strategies for linking mathematics, science, English language arts or social studies using the ilearnOhio platform.


Carol Dodson

Outreach and English Language Arts Specialist, Ohio Resource Center
Carol Brown Dodson taught English language arts and social studies at both the middle and high school levels. As a writing specialist in Columbus, she was instrumental in the development and implementation of the Columbus writing assessment. Jaime Kautz

Mathematics Content Specialist, Ohio Resource Center
Jaime earned a B.A. in mathematics and a B.S. in chemistry from Wilmington College and an M.S. in mathematics from the University of Cincinnati. She has taught mathematics and chemistry at the high school level in Blanchester Local Schools and mathematics courses at the University of Cincinnati and The Ohio State University. In addition, Jaime has supervised OSU M.Ed. students. She is currently working on a Ph.D. in mathematics education at OSU.

Virginia Moore

Social Studies Content Specialist, Ohio Resource Center
In addition to eighteen years teaching at the middle and high school level, Virginia Moore has worked extensively with pre-service and classroom teachers to integrate technology with instruction. A social studies consultant with the Ohio Department of Education from 2004-2011, she is currently the social studies resource specialist at the Ohio Resource Center.

Terry Shiverdecker

Science Content Specialist, Ohio Resource Center
Dr. Terry Shiverdecker taught high school science in Shelby County. She did adjunct work at the University of Cincinnati and Wright State University, Lake Campus. Before joining ORC, Terry was director of secondary curriculum and instruction for the Shelby County ESC. Terry received degrees from Wright State University, Miami University, and the University of Cincinnati.
