Equip • Engage • Empower

Every day, learning is taking place across barriers once thought to be insurmountable. For the 15th anniversary of OETC, join more than 6,000 attendees to explore the endless possibilities that distance learning and alternative learning models provide. Attendees will come together to teach and learn about new ways to equip, engage, and empower learners and educators across the state and beyond!

The Cleveland Museum of Natural History Brings IVC to Real Life!

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

“Can I see that?” You KNOW this question from your students really means, “Can I TOUCH that?” Excellent educators understand that hands-on classroom experiences greatly benefit student comprehension and retention of key concepts. The Cleveland Museum of Natural History connects to kids via dynamic IVC speakers AND physical props for their virtual lessons: real animal furs, bones, fossils, minerals and other Museum specimens are shipped to you in advance so you and your students CAN touch a piece of history. Visit our display to see examples of our most popular kits, and don’t miss our IVC connection on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 2:30pm—you’ll be a part of the LIVE action direct from our studio.

Lee Gambol

Distance Learning Coordinator/Science Instructor, Cleveland Museum of Natural History
Lee has been developing and teaching videoconference programs (and organizing their materials kits) since 2002, and believes that the most important post-program phrase to hear from a student is, “That was FUN!” She is routinely requested by teachers and warns all her students not to incur the Wrath of the Hedgehog (coming soon to an Ohio E-Tech VC near you!)

Patti Overholser

Senior Scheduler, Cleveland Museum of Natural History
Patti Overholser, Senior Scheduler for CMNH Outreach, has been dealing with science kits for 16 years, with her start in the Museum’s “Science Resource Center” lending library and then bringing her talents to the virtual realm. Patti knows where everything is, all of the time, and who signed for it!
