For the 15th anniversary of OETC, join more than 6,000 attendees to explore the endless possibilities that distance learning and alternative learning models provide. Attendees will come together to teach and learn about new ways to equip, engage, and empower learners and educators across the state and beyond!

Designer Pets: Using the Design Process to Understand Animal Adaptations

Have you ever wished your pet frog was fuzzy and cuddly? The latest trend in pets is desinging your own. This session is focus on how to use Microsoft paint and Smart Notebook to help students create designer pets. Elementary students will delight in the Zebrant (Zebra Ant) and Hummaphant (humming bird Elephant). Participants will be provided with resources to complete this project with students.

Amanda Blake has been an educator for 11 years with Columbus City Schools. As a master teacher, she has worked with teachers in the district to bring hands-on, engaging science explorations that allows students to take control of their learning in the classroom.
